August Election Certified and Precinct Results Available
Lebanon, TN – The Wilson County Election Commission certified the August 4, 2022 Republican and Democratic State and Federal Primary and the Wilson County General Elections on August 17th. The August 4,2022 precinct election results are now available online at www.WilsonVotes.com. 17,548 Wilson County voters comprising 17.48% of eligible voters expressed their opinions by casting a ballot during Early Voting or on Election Day.
When the polls close and the last voter in line has voted on Election Day, the results are posted online in real-time as they are received at the Election Commission office. These results are unofficial and reported as countywide totals. The data from each of the 18 Election Day vote centers, the four Early Voting sites, absentee ballots and provisional ballots are audited over the next few weeks. Once the audit is complete, election results are reported by precinct and certified by the Election Commission.
The Election Commission issues Certificates of Election to the winners of the Wilson County General Election certifying their election. Once these certificates have been received and the oath of office administered, they will take office on September 1st.
Tammy Smith, Administrator of Elections said, “Elections are not over on Election Day. The auditing of results is a detailed process that occurs in the weeks following the election. Verifying the accuracy of every vote cast ensures the integrity of the election.”
The certified results are posted on the Commission’s website – www.WilsonVotes.com. Certified election results for every election back to 2010 are available on the site. “Easy access to election results on our website is part of the Commission’s committment to provide transparency and accountability to the voters of our county.”
