TextMyGov Election Information Service Launched

Lebanon, TN – The Wilson County Election Commission is launching a free smart texting service for voters to receive election related information. TextMyGov will be a source of reliable election information for Wilson County voters. 

TextMyGov is a smart texting technology that will enable voters to receive election information from the Election Commission via text messaging. The service uses a mobile phones regular text messaging to relay timely election related messages. No additional apps or services or downloads are required to opt-in to this service. 

The texts sent and all data related to the voters that opt-in is generated and maintained by the Wilson County Election Commission. Ensuring the reliability and security of information disseminated about elections in the county is a priority of the Commission. 

“Having a source of accurate information that comes from the Wilson County Election Commission about elections specific to our County is an important step we’re taking to keep Wilson County voters informed and prepared for elections,” said Tammy Smith, Administrator of Elections.

Voters may opt-in to the TexMyGov service by texting WILSONTNVOTES to 91896. Subscribers will receive notifications about election deadlines, voting dates, locations, times, and will have access to timely election notifications provided by a trusted source. As the program grows, voters will have a quick access to a wealth of election information. 

For those interested in having a more in-depth knowledge of elections as they are administered in Wilson County, the upcoming Election Institute will provide that opportunity. The Election Institute will be held on Saturday, August 12th from 8:30am until 3:30pm at the Wilson County Election Commission Office at 230 East Gay St in Lebanon. The Institute is free and is designed to give an inside look at election preparation.
