Lebanon, TN - Every active registered voter in the Lebanon Special School District will soon receive a new voter registration card in the mail. The LSSD Board requested and received Legislative approval to change the school board makeup from three at large members to five members elected from zones. The updated voter registration card has each voter’s current district information on it.
The Lebanon Special School District board approved a new district in 2025 that divides the district into five zones. The five board members will serve staggered four-year terms with odd numbered zones being elected in presidential election years and even number zones being elected in gubernatorial election years. The 2026 ballot will have candidates for zones 1 and 3 vying for 2-year terms and candidates in zones 2 and 4 running for four-year terms. In 2028 zones 1,3 and 5 will be on the ballot for full four-year terms.
The new cards have individual voting information on them determined by where the voter lives. The LSSD Zone a voter is eligible to vote in is indicated on the card. Only voters who reside in the Lebanon Special School District will receive new cards. Voters who have changed addresses from that shown on the card should update their registration with the Wilson County Election Commission either in person, by mail or online as soon as possible.
Voter registration cards are not required for a registered voter to cast a vote during Early Voting or on Election Day. Voters are required to present a Tennessee or Federally issued photo ID in order to vote.
“We encourage voters to inspect their card carefully and contact the Wilson County Election Commission with questions or concerns”, said Tammy Smith, Wilson County Administrator of Elections.
The next election is the Wilson County Republican and Democratic Primary on May 5th, 2026. Offices on the ballot will be County Mayor, County Commissioners- All 25 Districts, County Trustee, Sheriff, Circuit Court Clerk, County Clerk, Register of Deeds, Constables- All 5 Zones, Wilson County School Board Zones 2, 4 and 6 and Lebanon Special School District School Board Zones 1,2,3 and 4.
